It’s that time of year again when I like to look back on the past year in MA real estate and review sales data, market trends and the general flow of our local real estate economics. It’s no surprise to residents of the North Shore that beautiful Manchester By The Sea claimed three of the ten most expensive Essex County sales in 2012 including the top sale. Clocking in at $8.4 million, a rare undivided waterfront estate with primary mansion, beach front carriage house and a waterfront bungalow on six and a half private acres took the top prize for 2012. Other towns represented in the top ten sales of 2012 were Manchester’s neighboring Magnolia area of Gloucester, Beverly Farms, Marblehead and the slightly inland communities of Topsfield and Andover.
